Open WebsiteWhat happened to BAT-BMS?
In mid-2026, the BAT-BMS app — a battery monitoring tool — was misused in viral "prank" videos to remotely shut down e-rickshaws through unsecured Bluetooth connections. The Indian government ordered BAT-BMS and a similar app removed from app stores over the safety risks. Any site still offering "BAT-BMS APK" or "Tirii prank app" downloads is pointing you at files that are banned, unmaintained, or outright fake.
What should drivers do?
- Don't sideload battery apps from random websites. APKs from unofficial sources are a common malware vector.
- Use your battery manufacturer's official app — the one recommended by whoever sold you the battery pack — and get it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Password-protect your BMS Bluetooth so strangers can't connect to your battery.
